REPORT ON INNOVATIVE WORK

Image
INTRODUCTION Innovation in its modern meaning is "a new idea, creative thoughts, new imaginations in form of device or method". Innovation is  often also viewed as the application of better solutions that meet new requirements, unarticulated needs, or existing market needs.  In order to fulfill the curricular achievements of the B.Ed course we teacher trainees had to prepare an innovative  work in the fourth semester for the high school section. During the course of my teaching practice session I found out that majority of the students in the high school section lacked a proper vocabulary. Once in the class while dealing with the section of synonyms I found out that most of my kids were struggling to give the proper answers for the synonym exercise which I had provided them. Considering this situation I decided to implement  a novel way as to help my students learn synonyms in a more easy way. So as my innovative  work I decided to prepare a chart on synonyms...

REPORT ON INNOVATIVE LESSON PLAN

REPORT ON INNOVATIVE LESSON PLAN INTRODUCTION In order to fulfill the curricular requirements of the practice teaching session , we had to prepare an innovative lesson plan which had to be implemented in the class . As I had prepared my innovative work on vocabulary enrichment as a sequel to it I thought of organizing a class for enriching the  vocabulary of my kids. I wanted to add more words to their personal word bank. For that the first idea that came to my mind is making my children enrich their vocabulary through a series of games. So as my innovative lesson plan I introduced a series of three games and two activities that I felt that would enrich the vocabulary of my kids. PROCEDURE In the previous phase of my practice teaching session, I had presented my students an album that contained a set of words which often got confused. First of all I gave my students an activity that recalled those words. I gave a set of five words from that set and asked five of them in t...

NINTH WEEK OF PRACTICE TEACHING SESSION

(13.01.2020- 17.01.2020) The last week of our practice teaching session too got successfully completed. This week too, we lost a working day due to a regional holiday. As we were nearing the completion of our practice teaching session, we had to complete all our pending works by this week itself. By the beginning of this week, I was able to put the achievement test in my class, followed by the diagnostic test and remedial teaching. I also collected the necessary data for my project work this week. Since the conduction of the tests took away my normal periods, I had to make some other arrangements so that I can complete my remaining lesson plans. Fortunately, the other teachers at the school were so much co-operative. Many of them were willing to give their periods. So I was able to effectively transact all the contents of my lesson plan. An awareness programme was organised at the school late this week in association with the District Police.Moral Science exams were conducted this we...

EIGHTH WEEK OF PRACTICE TEACHING SESSION

(06.01.2020 to 10.01.2020)The eighth week of our practice teaching session got successfully completed. Unfortunately we got only three working days this week. Two strikes came way this week and thus we lost our periods. But even then,we were able to arrange extra periods and thus effectively transacted our lessons in the class. As we were heading towards the completion of our practice teaching session, we all were pre-occupied with completing our lesson plans. I took my conscientization programme on the class this week. I took the topic 'Waste Management' since I felt that it was a much relevant topic of the day. I gave my students a short lecture on the need to dispose waste effectively and also showed them some short films that created awareness on the same. The students seemed to be much interested in such media involvement in the classroom. I had plans to conduct the achievement test by this week but as my optional teacher came to observe my class, I shifted the test to nex...

SEVENTH WEEK OF PRACTICE TEACHING SESSION

(30.12.2019 to 04.01.2020) The school re-opened after Christmas holidays on Monday 30 December 2019. The strength was comparatively very low this week, when compared with the other working weeks. Some students could not attend a terminal exam due to an unexpected strike. As a result, a retest was conducted for such students on the afternoon of the reopening day. As it was not announced earlier about the test, students as well as the teachers found it quite difficult. On Tuesday, the school celebrated its Christmas celebrations. There was an atmosphere of joy and mirth in and around the school. Children dressed up as Santa's were wonderful to see. Dance, songs, skits etc... were performed in connection with Christmas day celebrations. Christmas cakes were distributed to the children there after. A Christmas rally was organised in the evening to spread the message of unity and togetherness that Christmas had brought in. On Wednesday and Friday the school functioned as usual though the...

SIXTH WEEK OF PRACTICE TEACHING SESSION

(16.12.19 to 20.12.19) The second terminal examinations were progressing at the school during this week too. The exams were over by Wednesday 18 December 2019 and the school closed for Christmas holidays on 20 December 2019. A celebration for the staff was organised at the school on the closing date. Like in the previous week, being at the school during these exam days helped us to learn more about the various proceedings for conducting examinations. We were exempted from the invigilation duties. So we were busy with our works. We engaged ourselves by completing our records, discussing about our pending works and so on. The necessary preparations for the achievement and diagnostic tests had to be done like the preparation of the blueprint, setting up of question paper etc... as we were having only about two weeks remaining to be at school. We spent most of our time at school this week by completing our various academic works. Earlier it was announced that the Christmas celebrations fo...
